As a result of the recent heavy rains, a number of citizens may have experienced overland flooding or seepage into their homes or businesses.  Cardston County in conjunction with the Government of Alberta, through the Department of Municipal Affairs and the Alberta Emergency Management Agency is in the process of determining if a Disaster Recovery Program is warranted for Cardston County.

It is important as a first step for citizens who were affected to contact their own Insurance Companies to determine if the flooding/seepage can be covered by their home insurance policies.  If their insurance does not cover overland flooding/seepage then citizens should contact the County Office at 403-653-4977, or email office@cardstoncounty.com , to commence the initial steps in the program.
